A research report entitled "Digital Technology Adoption and Access to Finance among Micro and Small Enterprises in Addis Ababa" was presented at the Policy Studies Institute (PSI) premises on March 29, 2024. The research project is led by Dr. Eyoual Demeke, Dr. Asha Sundaram (University of Auckland), and Dr. Tewodros Tesemma, which focused on the adoption of digital technologies and access to finance among micro and small enterprises in Addis Ababa. The exploratory research is financially supported by Private Enterprise Development in Low-Income Countries (PEDL).

The 5th Academic Networking event held at the Policy Studies Institute (PSI) on March 27,2024.The event brought together esteemed researchers, policymakers, and industry experts for intellectual exchange and collaboration. With a rich history of hosting such gatherings, PSI once again demonstrated its commitment to fostering knowledge dissemination, promoting evidence-based decision making, and strengthening partnerships. The event served as a platform for sharing innovative research, discussing pressing issues, and exploring potential solutions to the challenges faced in various fields.

The staff of the Policy Studies Institute gathered at its premises on March 4, 2024, to celebrate Adwa Victory Day.The opening ceremony of the celebration was graced by His Excellency, Prof. Beyene Petros, who emphasized the magnificence of the Adwa victory to all Ethiopians, Africans, and people of African descent around the world.

The Policy Studies Institute(PSI) held a comprehensive six-month performance review at the Ethiopian Hotel on February 29, 2024. The one-day meeting was attended by all staff to assess the Institute's performance over the past six months and align it with the established plan.

 

The IT and Digital Economy Department of the Macro-Financial Policy Study and Research Center of the  Policy Studies Institute (PSI) presented a research proposal titled "IT Governance In Ethiopia Public Sectors: The Need For Policy Intervention" on February 23, 2024 at the PSI premises. The research team consists of PSI and Addis Ababa University staff including Fikirte Zemene, Getahun Wassie, Teshome Alemu and Dr. Melkamu Beyene.

The Policy Studies Institute (PSI) and Plan International Ethiopia have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), solidifying their commitment to collaboration and cooperation in advancing research, policy advocacy, and program implementation on January 30, 2024, at the Premises of PSI.

The  Federalism, Diversity Management and Rule of Law Studies at the Policy Studies Institute(PSI) conducted an internal validation workshop entitled “Understanding Conflicts in Ethiopia from 2015-2021” on January 26, 2024 in the premises of the PSI main meeting  hall.

 

The Policy Studies Institute celebrated various international days such as Children’s Day, Violence against Women and Girls, HIV Day and the Day of Persons with Disabilities at the PSI premises on December 19, 2023.

The event was attended by PSI top management and staff as well as invited guests from the Ethiopian Children's Amba and the Ministry of Women and Social Affairs.
