The International Food Policy Research Institute (IFPRI)

The International Food Policy Research Institute (IFPRI) provides research-based policy solutions to sustainably reduce poverty and end hunger and malnutrition in developing countries. Established in 1975, IFPRI currently has more than 600 employees working in over 50 countries. It is a research center of CGIAR, a worldwide partnership engaged in agricultural research for development. EDRI and IFPRI has set up a collaborative program called the “the Ethiopia Strategy Support Program (ESSP)”. ESSP is set up to conduct policy relevant research and analysis. EDRI and ESSP have collaborated on several projects including, but not limited to studies on, “the Ethiopian Tax System”, “the Inter-Sectoral Linkages of Growth and Transformation Plan (GTP)”, “from Integrated Value Chain to Cluster Development of the Cotton Sub-sector: Analysis of Rural Handlooms”, “Urban food retailing and food prices” and “Econometric Analysis of the Consumption, Saving and Investment Behaviors of Successful Farmers. “
