Meet PSI's, Chief Executive Director

H.E Mekuria Haile, Ph.D. was appointed by Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed, Ph.D., as Chief Executive Director of Ethiopian Policy Studies Institute on 6 October 2020.
H.E Mekuria Haile, Ph.D. served as a Minister, for Ministry of Urban Development, Housing and Construction of Ethiopia and he has been a member of the Ethiopian House of People’s Representatives.
Mekuria, has a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management from Addis Ababa University (AAU) and has obtained his Master’s degrees in International Business Management and Business Administration from Universities in Ireland and England respectively. His first post in the public sector was the Trade, Industry and Urban Development Bureau of the Southern Region and cabinet member of Southern Regional State. He then moved to Ethiopia Capital City, Addis Ababa chief Executive officer of the Municipality services.
He has received Degree of Doctor of Information and Telecommunication Technology Management from Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST), South Korea University on 2020.
Mekuria, Ph.D. has been in different Public office from 1992, he is posted as Chief Executive Director of Policy Studies Institute, a government policy research think tank.

in Integrated Housing and Development program was given to the ministry 23 June 2015, United Nations Departments of Economic and social Affairs, Medellin, and Republic of Colombia.

3. The 2014 prestigious UN –Habitat Scroll of Honor Award Was given to the Ministry in youth job opportunity creation in Ethiopia Cities, UN-Habitat, 11 April 2014, Medellin, and Republic of Colombia

4. Best Award of collaborative spirit: In recognition of the achievement in collaboration and networking demonstrated during your years with ITTP, KAIST. August 24, 2018.

5. Distinguished award of collaborative spirit: In recognition of the achievement in collaboration and networking demonstrated during your year with ITTP, KAIST. February 21, 2018.

6. Award of Outstanding Research Achievement: in recognition of the outstanding research findings and publication in Korea Advanced institute of science and (University) August,2020
