The Policy Studies Institute(PSI) Staff Placement Committee is responsibly placing PSI administrative and research staff. The committee began this task on October 1, 2015, E.C., and is taking different actions to accomplish this task.
The committee described the entire process it has gone through from its conception to its current status. It described the various processes and actions it has followed to date. First, the committee said, PSI made the placement criteria known to all staff to increase their awareness and understanding. The current committee was formed in response to the directive issued for that purpose. The committee then announced the requirements for each job posting. It posted the criteria and application date in various public areas at PSI.
The Committee stated that prior to reviewing the placement, it gets access to each staff's documents with their duly authorized confirmation signature. It said it then reviews the staff's applications based on applicant preferences and restructuring guidelines.
The committee has divided and arranged the placement process into phases. It is now reviewing and placing administrative staff, followed by the research staff
The committee said it has been executing the staff placement with due diligence, responsibility, and accountability in filling the positions. It said it also filled several administrative positions where there were discrepancies. The committee stressed how responsible, transparent and accountable the entire placement process has been. It also claimed that it has dealt with complaints that have arisen in connection with the placement.
The committee added that it has met regularly with PSI's top management to ensure the success of the placement. The committee also noted that the placement of administrative staff is in its final stages, while the placement of research staff is underway. It noted that it is much easier to place research staff than administrative staff because researchers compete for the open positions to which they apply. The committee said it has lively discussions and arguments for each position to understand each area of the position and ensure effective placement. It said it had a very critical discussion on this.
Overall, the committee believes that the placement of administrative staff is nearing completion and that top management is in the final stages of approving the placement. Similarly, the committee is working hard to finalize the placement of research staff. It still has work to do to complete the placement in the coming weeks.
