Basic Training On Quantitative Methods Using SPSS and STATA Has Been Given

The Center for Research, and Development and Data management center of PSI has conducted a three-day training on SPSS and STATA for the research staff of PSI. The training will be held from January 2 to 4,2022.

The trainer of the training, Mr. Tewodros Getinet, an associate professor of biostatistics, said that the goal of the training is to refresh PSI researchers on the basics of quantitative methods using SPSS and STATA. Quantitative methods are a set of methods used to analyze data and produce results. These methods help decision-makers understand the data they collect and make decisions based on their observations.

The most commonly used software for training in quantitative methods is SPSS and STATA. SPSS is a statistical software package used to analyze data and produce results. Mr. Tewodros said that the basic steps for getting started with quantitative methods training are to download the appropriate software, create a data set, and analyze the data. This can be done by importing data from a spreadsheet or other sources. Once you have created a dataset, you can start analyzing the data.

Upon completion of the course, associate Professor Tewodros said, all participants will be able to choose an appropriate statistical procedure for the data at hand, and they will also be able to create basic statistical data using SPSS and STATA.
