 The Policy Studies Institute's Center for Federalism and Diversity Management (PSI) hosted an internal validation workshop for a national study on "FDRE Constitution after Three Decades: Inquiring into whether and what to Amend" on January 18, 2023, at PSI. PSI researchers and the Director General, Professor Beyene Petros, participated in the workshop. The workshop was well attended and the participants actively participated in the discussion on this topic.

In Collaboration with Various Institutions, PSI Conducted a Policy Workshop

The Policy Studies Institute (PSI) in collaboration with the Ministry of Industry, Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), and the National Graduate Research Institute for Policy Studies (GRIPS) held a policy workshop titled "Policy Trade-offs and Inconsistencies: why Ethiopian Manufacturing fails to grow fast?” on December 15, 2022, at Skylight Hotel, Addis Ababa.

PSI Staff  Placement Committee Is On Duty

The Policy Studies Institute(PSI) Staff Placement Committee is responsibly placing PSI administrative and research staff. The committee began this task on October 1, 2015, E.C., and is taking different actions to accomplish this task.

 A two-day training on grant proposal writing was conducted for the junior staff of Policy Studies Institute (PSI). The objective of the training was to help junior staff write successful grant proposals. During the opening of the two-day training, the Director General of PSI, H.E. Prof. Beyene Petros emphasized that resources are very limited and contested nowadays, although there are numerous ways to mobilize from governmental and non-governmental sources.

H.E. Woizero Tirumar Abate visited the PSI

H. E. Woizero Tirumar Abate, State Minister of the F.D.R.E. Ministry of Planning and Development, visited the Policy Studies Institute on 3 November 2022 to establish a link between PSI and the International Centre for Evaluation and Development (ICED).

The Policy Studies Institute (PSI) discussed its last year's work performance, this year's plan and quarterly report on October 28-27, 2022 at Haile Grand Hotel.

During the opening of the two-day’s review, H. E. Prof. Beyene Petros, the Executive Director General of PSI said that the performance review can be used to identify the strengths and weaknesses of the Institute. The Executive Director General added that it helps to improve the performance of staff by giving them feedback on their strengths and weaknesses. The appraisals are also used to make decisions about promotions, incentives, rewards and disciplinary actions. Prof. Beyene also explained that the quarterly report review is a process by which the Institute reviews employees' progress during the first three months against the goals and objectives established for each quarter as part of the annual plan for the New Year.
